Police Department Covers up Death Squad Activity

Attempted murder of a journalist by a Los Angeles area police officer
The following was filed with Internal Affairs at the Long Beach Police Department on March 29, 2006. Over three years has lapsed since the event delineated below. Following the assault, I attempted on several occasions to phone the LBPD Internal Affairs to report an attempted murder which was engineered by a police officer. I was told that I was “not permitted” to contact IA. Wednesday, I took the train down to Long Beach with a friend, and walked into IA and filed this report. I was also interviewed for forty minutes by two officers in connection with the report. The interview was taped.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am reporting collusion in an attempted murder by a Long Beach Police Officer, Loren Dawson. Following a complicated FBI operation to murder my mother, Dr. Amalie Phelan, spearheaded by Agent Jack L. Smith of West Hollywood, California, I began to experience police misconduct. Inappropriate police activity directed towards me began in June of 2002, when I entered the LBPD to report an event which endangered my mother’s life. An officer twisted my arm behind my back, causing significant pain, and shoved me out of the lobby onto the street.

Police misconduct towards me began to accelerate. In November of 2002, I again entered the lobby of the LBPD, this time to report forged endorsements on checks made out to me and deposited into another person’s bank account. I also presented a letter, written by a manger of the bank, Wells Fargo, stating that I had no accounts at that time at that bank and no ability to negotiate anything with that bank. Officer Perez then threatened me with arrest and ordered me to leave the P.D.

On January 2, 2003 at approximately 10:30 p.m., I again came to the lobby of the LBPD. My life had been threatened and I was seeking assistance from law enforcement.

Officer Loren Dawson met me in the lobby. He cuffed me and took me to a waiting squad car. He informed me that I was going to be given a drug overdose. He brought me to an undisclosed location. I was taken to a room where there were several other people, who identified themselves as police officers. They were in plainclothes.

Against my will, I was stuck with a hypodermic needle in my right bicep, and immediately collapsed into unconsciousness. I came to consciousness two days later, in a Long Beach hospital. I was on a heart monitor.

I am stating unequivocally that Officer Loren Dawson, of the Long Beach Police Department, was involved in an operation to murder me.
