Some more reasons for Karadzic and Mladic to think twice about surrendering to the Hague kangaroo tribunal – unless they are both suicidal.

Milosevic’s poor health has been amply documented and re-confirmed by an army of doctors over the years that he had been detained by the Hague court. Some medical procedures in Russia were offering unconfirmed promises employing novel approaches. The very Russian Federation offered state guarantees and accepted that Milosevic would be guarded by the Hague appointed guards while undergoing medical treatment – and was that ever honored?

No, of course it was not. In terms of murder, let’s not mince words, because that is exactly what it is. If I know that my wife is a diabetic and I keep giving her chocolates and sweets, aren’t I committing murder – not in one fell scoop but gradually, elegantly and consistently with forethought of malice? Of course I am.

There was no acceptable solution that Milosevic would not defend himself by himself – even that basic right of every defendant was in question for some time – but he prevailed. He was a lawyer by training and would not entrust his defense to anybody else – so much more so since he knew he was innocent of the charges. For my money he was guilty of other charges that were not even mentioned in the indictment but completely innocent of all the trumped up charges in the Tribunal’s version of this mockery of a trial.
