Bush Advances Beyond Ports
If the existing conflicts spread just a little bit our new "fair weather friends" may not last too long - let's examine what possibly attracted Bush to India.
In spite of the inborn distrust towards Muslim encroachment in all fields of life (and death too), I still have a measure of hope with regards to Bush’s other moves. If anybody held a gun to my head – the last place Bush would want to visit is Gandhi’s burial site – so why is he there?
In my view (and this is only a guess based on eternal hope) he knows that the very populous India has been capable of neutralizing Pakistan’s Muslim encroachment over the last five decades – while our new “fair-weather friend” Musharef of Pakistan may easily turn the leaf. Should that happen, and if Bush’s mission is as complex as I suppose that it is – he has just saved a good few thousand Marine’s lives in an upcoming conflict to involve the Southern borders of Afghanistan/Pakistan/India/Tibet. That entire region is highly explosive and perhaps somebody from his Cabinet has enough foresight to try to diffuse a future crisis.
This optimistic view does nothing to dispel many of the misgivings I hold about almost every single administration we had here in the past 50 years. I just hope that this one will bring us some lesser evils. The predictable rogue element of all our governments (bureaucratic tendencies, proclivity to theft and other financial misconduct, and/or misappropriation) remains painfully omnipotent and omnipresent.
Very possibly this posting is here a little ahead of time as I am sure Dr. Trifkovic will provide a clearer, better and smarter overview of Bush’s “unexpected visit” to India.
