"Politically Incorrect" Gets The Axe From ABC

Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect" gets the axe from ABC

The popular show "Politically Incorrect" is now officially part of TV history as of friday, June 28th, 2002. The show, which aired from 1993 to 2002 on ABC (after switching from Comedy Central in '95), was a unique program that dealt with issues deemed "controversial" by the mainstream networks. So controversial in fact that it has now been canceled due to Bill Maher's generally "radical" political views on many current issues that the mainstream media tends to voraciously disagree with and shy away from (due to corporate interests and corporate governance).

This is seen by many as a blatant curtailing of constitutional first amendment rights and civil liberties by the corporate media and serves as further proof that commercial television is becoming more and more homogenized into a politically-correct-all-the-time-applepie-britneyspears-always-patriotic-pro-war-pepsi-nike-michaeljordan-gameshow representation of our world and its increasingly corporatized cultures.

Real political debate about REAL issues is systematically being shut out of commercial TV and there's no end in sight. "Politically Incorrect" was the only legitamite talk show on the air which dealt with the scary truth in a responsible, truly intellectual, ADULT manner, and has now been completely censored in order to further homogenize the airwaves. The First Amendment is in great danger in the Neo-Colonial States of America.

Is the so-called "Patriot Act" really an introduction to a new form of physical and mental enslavement for the general population? Many believe this to be the case and that it'll continually get worse.

The show will live on in the minds and hearts of its core fans, which rank in the millions, and as for Bill Maher himself...well, in all likelihood, he ain't going nowhere...we'll run into him again.

Until then, we'll miss ya Brother Bill
