Unmasking the Phoney Leftist "Antiwar Stance"

Eerie silence from "Progressives" on coming attack on Iran
Open letter to AFSC and other "Progressives":

I'm just curious to know if the motto "war is not the answer" applies to the imminent U.S. and/or Israeli attack on Iran. This will in all probability involve a nuclear weapon. (www.antiwar.com/orig/hirsch.php), ending a 60 year taboo on the use of such weapons. Daniel and Philip Berrigan campaigned against nuclear weapons for 40 years during the contrived "USA-USSR confrontation" scam. However, nuclear weapons are real enough. The US and the Israelis actually have some.

Is it okay with AFSC to throw away the Berrigan's legacy if the targeted country's government is "evil"? Do you approve the coming war and opening of the nuclear Pandora's box as long as the weapons are directed against a nation's elected leaders who are skeptical of Elie Wiesel's and Stephen Spielberg's version of events during World War II?

From the "SMART" Resolution: working with the United Nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, other international institutions, and other countries to root out terrorist networks and strengthen international law;

Excuse me, but the UN has endorsed the US occupation of Iraq. That's why the UN compound was attacked by insurgents about a year and a half ago.

Since the controlled collapse of the Soviet Union, NATO has been nothing but an instrument of state terror, in Yugoslavia and Afghanistan especially.

Do the corrupt cronies in charge of the UN and NATO get to "strengthen international law" and decide who is a "terrorist" ?

The "SMART" Resolution could "legitimize" the attack on Iran after the fact.

The silence from the Left, including the AFSC, has been deafening on the issue of the likely attack on Iran (Daniel Ellsberg is a notable exception to this). It is not far-fetched to think that many Leftists in the West (and I don't mean queer cowboys) want "regime change" in Iran. Unlike in the "Progressive" West, the Iranian government does not tolerate open homosexuality or Hollywood pornography, and abortion is severely limited.

So in order to achieve regime change, those of the increasingly nihilistic Left are merging with their neo-con cousins and are willing to support the use of nukes to "get the job done"! What hypocrisy!

Incredibly, AFSC/FCNL recently made a big stink about having stopped the development of low-yield nuclear weapons through their lobbying efforts. Nothing could be further from the truth! They did no such thing and they only fool themselves and the gullible fools who support them!

Jorge Hirsch, from www.antiwar.com/orig/hirsch.php: According to the aforementioned Congressional Research Service Report of October 2005, the B61-11 entered the nuclear stockpile in the year 2001. Many of Iran's facilities are underground and probably require nuclear weapons to be completely destroyed, e.g., parts of the Natanz site for uranium enrichment and the underground tunnels at the Isfahan uranium reprocessing facility. Iran's ballistic-missile production facilities and some missile silos are reportedly underground.

The yield of the B61-11 bomb is in doubt: the Nuclear Posture Review describes it as a "single-yield weapon," and recent reports indicate that the yield is 400 kilotons. However, we know that "every current U.S. nuclear weapon has one or more low-yield settings." According to Bob Peurifoy, a former Sandia labs weapons-design manager, "I know how to give you most of those [low] yields today with a pair of wire cutters and a wrench." Information on nuclear weapons' yields is classified.
