While Red Emma's is going to be one of the primary sponsors of the
event(along with, among others, Philadelphia's Wooden Shoe Books who
will be organizing a parallel infoshop and radical bookstore encuentro
that weekend), we're looking to open up the organization of the event
to as many interested groups and individuals as possible.
So, if you'd like to:
-Suggest workshops, speakers, and performers
-Help plan fundraising events
(we'd really like to be able to cover travel costs for out of
town speakers)
-Help contact presses, bookstores, and other groups who'd be
interested in tabling at the bookfair
(we want to know who you'd like to see at the bookfair)
-Help with publicity and advertising
(radical graphic designers especially welcome!)
-Volunteer during the bookfair itself
(we're going to need staffers, greeters, movers, cooks,
media-makers, sound technicians, performers, workshop leaders,
facilitators, moderators, etc. and then some)
Then come to our first open organizational meeting this coming Monday,
Nov 21st at 7PM at Red Emma's, or email us at
bookfair-AT-redemmas.org
with your suggestions.
Yours in solidarity,
The Red Emma's 2006 Bookfair Taskforce
