Last August, Peter Angelos promised to bring the pay of cleaners at Camden Yards up to Baltimore’s Living Wage-- $8.85 an hour. Workers rejoiced and looked forward to a summer in which debts could be repaid, a few days could be spent with family instead of working, and futures could begin to build on the stability provided by a living wage. A year later, Angelos has yet to make good on his promise, and Stadium cleaners continue to work in poverty.
Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. --Romans 4:4
