FEMA did not airlift thousands of cheap aluminum flat bottom row boats from recreational marinas. FEMA did not airlift Jeb Bush's everglades airboats.

FEMA did not open the airport. Bush sent in USAF flight control only after two commercial airlines had begun evacuation. All air evacuation was done by US airlines. A day after the airlines had landed, FEMAcalled them and asked them to do what they were already doing, handle the air evacuation. The Bush jumped in again with the appearance that national guard troops who were refereeing airport shuttle bus boarding were doing more than that. In fact buses had been shuttling on dry road since Wednesday, national guard only refereeing bus boarding, not ferrying people through the water.

FEMA did not provide police or anybody else with boats, and 97% of rescues were performed by private citizens with their own boats.

FEMA turned back convoys of up to a hundred buses at a time.

FEMA turned back gasoline tanker trucks from the entire gulf coast, where evacuation was not even being considered by anyone.

FEMA shuttled the Georgia emergency medicine team through five cities and three states. After four cities, they had only treated one person.

Security blocked the two road routes out of New Orleans, Crescent Connector and Algiers, on the first day. And so it went.

The Industrial Canal passes through the 9th ward residential area full of worker cottages.
Levees are big artificial hills made of dirt and covered with grass.
