I have received confirmation from the Balto City Dept. of Housing Office today that tomorrow, Sept. 10, possibly more than 1,000 victims of Katrina are expected to arrive in Baltimore at the Du Burns Arena.

For now, they are still telling people to bring donations of non-perishables, water, clothing, toiletries, school supplies, and other goods to local fire stations. (I also read on a sign that they are looking for donations of diverse goods for babies' needs, and also items that will give these visitors some measure of comfort).

They are also seeking homeowners who would be willing to open up their homes to these displaced individuals. For more details, please call the city housing office at 410 396-1977.
