Democracy Now is reporting today (7/13/05) that a suicide bomber killed 27, mostly children in Baghdad. US troops are giving sweets to the children when a suicide bomber drives up and kills them.

Previously, US troops were giving sweets to children and a "triple suicide bombing" occurred, killing about 37 children.

does anyone else think that these stories sound fishy? Why would the Iraqi resistance do this? Has John Negroponte said or did anything to suggest he isn't capable of planning fake suicide bombings that target children?

In 1787, the United States Congress enacted the Northwest Ordinance. America was still an infant nation governed by the Articles of Confederation, and the Northwest Ordinance concerned western growth. It outlined a process to deal with the territory north of the Ohio River. According to its provisions, new states would be carved out of this area and each new state was to have a republican form of government.
