IRAQI LABOR SOLIDARITY TOUR

Baltimore, Maryland, On June 15, 2005, Two members of the Iraqi Federation of Labor will be holding a press conference on June 15 at the UNITE-H.E.R.E. hall, 7-9 Mulberry St., Baltimore at 3:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. the doors will be open to the public for a 7 p.m. public presentation.

Two officers of the Iraqi Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU) will visit Baltimore at the invitation of U S Labor Against the War. This event is part of a national tour where leaders of three of the most important Iraqi labor organizations will meet with National and Local Union leaders, members of Congress, students, scholars, faith and media organizations.

* Learn what the occupation has meant for Iraq’s working people and labor movement.
* Learn how the current government continues to enforce Saddam Hussein’s 1987 law banning unions for a majority of Iraqi workers.
* Learn how workers have successfully resisted privatization of Iraqi workplaces.
* Learn why the IFTU supports the withdrawal of all occupation forces.
* Find out what you can do to support these courageous workers and help Iraqis to build a sovereign, democratic Iraq governed in the interest of all the Iraqi people.
 Find out what you can do to help end the occupation, to bring all U.S. troops safely home, and to invest our resources in meeting human needs.

Free Admission / Donations Accepted
