Baltimore Indymedia cannot claim to be "independent" if "editors" claim the right to censor the material that bloggers wish to disseminate.

This news blog contains information about cannabis, astronomy and tennis because it also contains information about the 911 hoax, concentration camps that are being built and the possibility of a man-made flu pandemic that kills millions. That's pretty intense stuff. Most people won't look at it. However, by adopting a magazine format which mixes tough material with lighter material like anti-prohibition, astronomy or tennis the hope is people will return to the blog. If they continue to return they may begin to look at the more crucial material.

In the last five years Baltimore IMC has featured zero (0) articles that challenge the propaganda of the Bush regime. In addition, Baltimore IMC has consistently "hidden" articles which do so.

Censorship is regularly practiced with other Indymedia websites, as seen by the speed with which the New York and Portland IMCs have censored commentary about the 911 hoax. Baltimore IMC is now hiding links to the 911 hoax. Yesterday a particularly authoritarian editor made a request that this blog be "edited" without citing policy criteria.
