In a short while there will be the Summer of 2005, a time when the NATO (non)aggression would have granted independence to Kosovo. For now NATO (already being replaced by EU-troops) is still the “peacekeeper” in the Kosovo province of Serbia. Our village of Djakovica now has only five elderly Serbian women remaining (our picture enclosed) – and we can’t tell you how grateful we are that you brought us this Democracy through use of firepower.

In honor of such a momentous occasion we, the 4 Serbian families left in the towns of Gnjilane and Obilic, would like to extend a warm welcome to the people responsible for such a brave approach to democracy and such grand vision which brought us here from the nightmare of the 1999, when we were bombed for 78 days. Aiming at a paper tank across the street – NATO jets destroyed my barn and my chicken – but that’s a small price to pay when people like Clinton, Albright, Blair, Solana and others have such a positive vision of what great freedoms we shall reap by mid 2005.

We can light a bonfire and dance around the ruins of our old homes and churches - that should be interesting.

Since NATO already killed most of our livestock (and chickens) we have invited chickens from other countries to be served as food for our honored guests. Our planned ceremony will feature the “before and now – pictures” especially of the many churches, monasteries desecrated by UCK Albanians before and after the bombardment. If the United States claims they had no knowledge of the UCK’s activities – it might be prudent to ask Captain Invincible (Richard Holbrooke) who is sitting on the floor without any shoes, (as it is custom in Muslim homes or temples) next to a fully armed UCK soldier – maybe he had some ideas, but kept them to himself – anyhow he’s invited also. This degree of prosperity could have been envisioned only by the brilliant thinking minds (Clinton, Albright – and possibly Lewinsky) who bombed us back into stone age, allowed destruction of our churches and enabled the terrorist UCK to take power. We, peasants, are simple people – we were under the impression that no government negotiates with terrorists – but what do we know.

If this festive event goes as well as it is planned, we shall hold another similar event for George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden in 5 years time.

We are living well below poverty level but we intend to mark this occasion with all due honor and elegance, if we run short of eggs, we’ll ask the remaining UCK soldiers to provide a clandestine operation of eggs gathering in neighboring Greece – which they also include in their plans for “Greater Albania”.

P.S. Don’t worry, in Serbian homes you don’t have to take your shoes off.
