The Northern California 9-11 Truth Alliance states that the purpose of the art contest is-

“To encourage artists to think deeply and creatively about the defining event of this century, to shine truth on the biggest lies of our time, which have been used to launch immoral, illegal, unjustifiable wars, and to help light the path towards peace and justice.”

They state that- “Art, film, truth, music, courage has birthed the 9-11 Truth Movement, we hope this art contest will encourage people to become more engaged in shaping our collective future, recognizing their own power, and helping us to merge the 9-11 Truth Movement with the Peace and Justice Movements, for the benefit of all people and all life.”

They offer over a thousand dollars in cash prizes, many other prizes including DVD, CDs, videos, books, and bundles of “Deception Dollars.” The Deception Dollars, have helped fund the 9-11 Truth Movement, and have been passed out at rallies and protests throughout the US; over 6,000,000 are in print. Deception Dollar artist, Blaine Machan, will be one of the judges. Entries are due by July 1st and will be published on the Northern California 9-11 Truth Alliance website, winners art will be published in Global Outlook and HopeDance magazines, and Left Curve Journal; they may be reproduced on posters, buttons, postcards, flyers by the group, and the Peace Resource Project, for educational and promotional purposes. Co-sponsors include many book publishers, radio producers, Project Censored, the Media Education Foundation, MUJCA-NET: Muslim Christian Jewish Alliance for 9/11 Truth, and David Ray Griffin, who has become a soft-spoken challenger to the official 9-11 Commission with his new book- The 9-11 Report- Omissions and Distortions.

"David Ray Griffin takes a critical look at the official 9/11 Commission Report put out by the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. Professor Griffin argues that the "omissions and distortions" in the report amount to a cover-up by government officials and says that the available evidence suggests that the Bush administration was complicit in the 9/11 attacks (either by ignoring known threats or through actual participation in the planning of the attacks). Professor Griffin asks a series of questions which he says have been either inadequately answered or completely ignored by the commission. These include questions surrounding the attack on the Pentagon, the way in which the World Trade Center towers collapsed, and the behavior of President Bush and his Secret Service detail following notification that a second plane had hit the WTC. Author Bio: David Ray Griffin is professor emeritus at the Claremont School of Theology, where he taught for over 30 years (retiring in 2004). He has authored or edited over two dozen books, including "God and Religion in the Postmodern World," "Religion and Scientific Naturalism," and "The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11."
