Embodied within McGreevey's career are contradictions of the Democratic Party: implementing progressive tax reforms and a domestic partnership legislation, at the same time as using public employees' pension funds to buy Israeli bonds and privatizing pension-fund management.

Copying Bush and Ashcroft, Kerry calls on Americans to "do more to protect themselves against terrorism by setting up neighborhood watch groups."
Constantly threatened by the Democratic Party’s copycat Republican attacks like this one, what are liberals and leftists to do?
Check out my brand-new color-coded advisory system that allows liberals and leftists to evaluate Threat Conditions and take corresponding Protective Measures against the Democratic Party’s Republican copycat attacks.

"There's a little rebellion starting," [Peter] Camejo said this week.
Camejo said in California, the bastion of Green registration, "it's a fact: The majority of the party wants to put Nader/Camejo on the ballot." (Carla Marinucci, "Nader's Ballot Hopes Hinge on State's Greens," San Francisco Chronicle, August 7, 2004).

The best kept secret of this presidential election year is that Ralph Nader has been polling better in 2004 than 2000, despite the relentless barrage of attacks by Anybody But Nader intellectuals. Compare the Gallop survey results in 2000 and 2004.

Former CIA analyst, Ray McGovern, offers practical advice on reforms of the US intelligence system. McGovern shares a good tid bit with regard to the 9/11 Comission proposal for a National Intelligence Director: “I don’t think you need a czar,” [Tom] Ridge said on Fox News Channel. “We already have one level of bureaucracy that we don’t need,” said the czar of Homeland Security, who reportedly has decided to quit at the end of the year.

campaign anti2004 (Greece) and Freedom Magazine
Author Brian Martin details reasons to oppose all Olympic Games, applicable to the games in Greece in August 2004 and in the years to come. These include the way the games promote nationalism, commercialism, racism, violence, celebrity, male dominance, government repression (especially relevant in Greece now), a society of the spectacle and other negatives so valued by the present order of civilization. Strategies for changes & concrete actions are discussed. A classic article first published in Freedom (August 1996) and doubly worth reading today.
