Socialists, nationwide are sharply critical of John McCain’s irresponsible statement to suggest that U.S. forces will remain in Iraq and Afghanistan for another five years.

MGM MIRAGE and Dubai World have signed a definitive agreement for a $5.1 billion long-term joint venture, the companies announced today. Dubai World will invest approximately $2.7 billion in MGM MIRAGE's CityCenter (pictured) mixed-use in Las Vegas and up to $2.4 billion in up to 28.4 million shares of MGM Mirage stock, representing an approximate 9.5 percent stake in the company.

Son of Nun (SON) is a former Baltimore City School teacher and current MC performs class-conscious, revolutionary hip-hop. In addition to building for the next show, SON is also active in the anti-war movement as well as being an activist with several other causes. He recently performed at the Winter Soldier hearings put on by Iraq Veterans Against the War, and has appeared on stage with artists ranging from Dead Prez to Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, as well as activists like Howard Zinn and Cindy Sheehan. Workers at the Sheraton City Center have been in contract negotiations with owners Columbia Sussex since April 2006. The company wants to increase workloads, decrease benefits, and have the unlimited right to contract out work. In response to this, Sheraton City Center workers voted in October to boycott their own hotel.
