Get ready for the Radical Bookfair Pavilion at the Baltimore Book Festival!
From September 26th through 28th, Red Emma's is going to be hosting what's shaping up to be an amazing Radical Bookfair Pavilion at the annual Baltimore Book Festival in Mt. Vernon Square. With close to 20 tablers (including AK Press, Haymarket Books, PM Press, Teaching For Change, Red Emma's, Crimethinc, Microcosm, and many more), and a full weekend of speakers including Amy Goodman, Dave Zirin, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Seth Tobocman, Michael Muhummad Knight, China Martens, Jessica Mills, MK Asante Jr., and more - all outdoors in the middle of the Book Festival - it's looking like a great weekend.

On Friday, August 1st I led a contingent of the Uhuru Movement into Barack Obama’s town hall meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida to raise the question, “what about the black community, Obama?” Without the benefit of a big media budget, our organization attempted to bring the serious issues experienced by African working class people across this country into the national political debate.

Thousands out of home after early morning fireworks at propane depot in city's northwest...An emergency worker with Bombardier, which has a facility in the area, told CP he saw houses on fire. The worker, who did not want to be identified, also said he saw propane tanks dropping from the sky.
