Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is under pressure to intervene and delay this month's general election amid the furore caused by the Council of Guardians' decision to blacklist moderate candidates. Many reformist members of parliament resigned in protest and some now fear that security forces may act to push through the vote. Most Iranians don't want a confrontation between conservatives and reformers--they want the changes in their social, cultural and economic lives to continue. Bernard Hourcade reports.
