The Sharonists executed Rachel Corrie, age 23, a fighter for justice for the Palestinians, on March 16, 2003. She represented the spirit of a new generation of Americans, a rising brigade of patriots, who are now on the streets protesting the Iraq war. On April 19, 1775, American rebels, at Concord Bridge, fired on the British Army. It was a “shot heard round the world.” The horrific sound of the Israeli bulldozer running over a brave Rachel Corrie is also being “heard round the world,” and its effects may be just as cataclysmic as the sound heard at fabled Concord Bridge back in 1775.
