The Israeli Supreme Court ruled on Dec. 30, 2002, that Army reservists, who have refused to serve in the Occupied Territories, for "reason of conscience," cannot be exempted from military duty. This decision makes a mockery of justice. It ignored the main issue-that Israel's occupation is illegal, violates international law, and that the reservists, under the Nuremberg precedents, have a right to refuse to serve there.
