DLLR Boiler Safety Inspectors were called in to examin the Boiler Water Heater "H" that killed a Man and his daughter, the "Boughters" of Lebanon Pennsylvania. Over one week after the incident had occured, and days after the Local Fire Chief had drawn up his conclusion.
July 12th 2006 video of part of Munchkin Inspection. Note that direct vent line is securely attached to rear of Boiler. Inspectors themselves shook and pulled at pipe while both on and off camera, carefully examining every inch of it. They could not find any leaks or breaks.
2nd video of July 14th 2006 shows vent pipe is NOW detached and M Jones just happens to NOW know where break is. He didn't July 12th 2006, and the rear connection was securely attached with a metal band! Although News Media declared that break was found during a July 11th news conference. The other thing was that it took the Fire Inspectors of Ocean City over 2 days to find the break in the Pipe. If in fact the leak that killed two family members as Jones declared on the 14th did occur due to the pipe seperating. HOW?, did this happen? How did a unit that had been working for over one year without any recorded incident, just come apart and start spewing CO. In fact this Heating Unit was a high efficiency Boiler. Therefore it was supposed to generate very little if any CO.
Note in the photo the excessive length of the piping and the odd weak way of attaching the pipe to Ceiling tiles, like so many party balloons!!
