Infinity’s Kitchen: A New Indie Lit Zine in Baltimore
The goal here is break the old fashioned rules about “art” and “literature.” There are some new-fangled rules we’re not going to play by, either.
Literature isn’t always romantically-inspired words, printed on a page. Art is not exactly a business. Creativity is not a science, but it isn’t all a bunch of mystery and hogwash either. Rock ‘n’ Roll has had its heyday, so what else is there? Angrily disfigured art imagery isn’t always as “deep” as the pockets that pay for it. Are you starting to understand the ideas behind this publication? Good, ‘cuz that’s just the aesthetics.
With the second issue of Infinity's Kitchen, we're experimenting (carefully) with some ideas that we borrowed from concrete poetry. Concrete poetry, or visual poetry, is written so that the physical qualities of the words are important. It's a great way to add some flavor to the poetry.
